Starting this blog

I am starting this blog as part of the CPD23 things course. I want to do this to improve my knowledge of ICTs.

I have just finished doing a postgraduate diploma in Library and Information Studies via distance learning from Aberystwyth University.

I work half a week (job share), as an Assistant Librarian at an independent school in West Yorkshire.

I have never blogged before and am not sure that I want to! I am not very comfortable with writing things that can be read by anyone. My natural instincts online are to give as little information as possible.

  1. Hi, I did my degree at Aber by distance learning - finished in 2007. Now working in a school library in Bedfordshire.
Be brave, blogging can be fun and its a great way to network with other libbies. I'm just dipping my toes into the web 2.0 stuff and this course is ideal to try new stuff.

  2. B., I know what you feel - I'm very hesitant about blogging too. I've spent a couple of years enjoying librarian newsfeeds and other people's blogs without ever contributing anything, so I'm hoping this cpd23 will give me more feeling of a blogging community I can be part of.
